Jackson House Inn, Woodstock, Vermont

Policies & Practices

Rates, Reservations, & Cancellations

Daily rates are per room, single or double occupancy. The Inn offers a leisurely, complimentary, multiple course chef’s choice breakfast each morning. Room rates are subject to Vermont’s Rooms & Meals tax.

A two-night minimum stay is required for all peak periods, weekends, and holidays. Please contact the Inn for details. Occasionally, we encounter circumstances during those times when one-night reservations become available. Contact the Inn’s front desk to check availability for single-night reservations during those times

Deposits of 50% are required to guarantee a reservation (100% for a one-night reservation, for Dartmouth graduation weekend, and for whole house reservations), and may not be transferable. Please call us to review options should a problem arise.

If you find that you must cancel your reservation more than 14* days prior to arrival, you will receive a refund less a $50.00 processing fee.

If you cancel within 14* days of arrival, your deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to rebook the room, at which point we will process a credit minus the appropriate cancellation fee.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the check-in date are responsible for full payment for the entire reservation, including (if applicable) multiple nights.

Decreases in the number of reserved nights are subject to the cancellation policies once the reservation has been confirmed.

Early departures after check-in will be charged for the entire length of the reservation.

We will make every attempt to rebook any canceled reservation and, if able to do so, will honor the most lenient applicable cancellation policy.

*Exceptions: The cancellation period for holidays, the fall foliage season (mid-September through late October), and multi-room reservations requires notice of cancellation at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. Dartmouth graduation weekend and event/whole house reservations require a cancellation notice of six months prior to the date of arrival; 25% of the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations of such reservations within six months of arrival result in the full forfeit of your prepayment. If, however, the canceled reservation(s) can be rebooked, we will process a credit minus the applicable cancellation amount.

On the Property

Our rooms accommodate a maximum of 2 guests each. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide for any additional guests within a room. If you wish to accommodate more than 2 guests, you may wish to consider booking our two adjoining guest rooms.

Our facility including the porches, gardens, and grounds is a non-smoking property.

We are unable to accommodate guests younger than age 12.

We can accept service dogs in two rooms only, Cranberry and Christine Jackson.

Check-in time is between the hours of 3.00 PM and 7.00 PM. However, we are happy to arrange times beyond those hours (including late check-in) with advance notice.

Check-out time is 11.00 AM.

Fresh-brewed beverages are available in the beverage room on the main floor of the Inn at approximately 7.00 AM.

A two-course market-fresh breakfast is served in the large dining room at the rear of the property. There are currently two breakfast seatings, at 8.00 AM, and 9.30 am. Unfortunately, as a small boutique property we are unable to provide breakfasts for late risers, but we can recommend in-town options.

Please let us know an advance if you have special timing or dietary needs.

Wine, beer, and specialty cocktails are available for purchase in the Inn Tavern between the hours of 4.00 PM and 7.00 PM. Per Vermont law, our license requires that all alcohol consumed in the Inn (and as you enjoy our porches, gardens, and grounds) must be purchased from and served by a member of the Inn staff.

We hope you appreciate the beauty of our floors and carpets and graciously ask you to utilize boot trays and mats throughout the property. Our desire is to keep the interior “outdoor shoe/bootless” if at all possible, particularly during inclement weather.

We must request that you do not burn candles in our guest rooms. In addition to safety concerns, we have a very sensitive alarm system, and candles are likely to set off the alarm. We’re happy to lend LED substitutes.

For the comfort and protection of our guests, we have a no smoking and a no pet policy on our property. Guests who violate this policy will be asked to leave and will be charged for their entire reservation. There is a $250 fee charged to restore a room to smoke-free and/or pet-free status.

Gratuities

No daily service charge is added to guest bills. Gratuities may be left at the guest’s discretion.
