What a perfect time of year to visit the beauty and view the talent of Vermont! The Jackson House Inn at Woodstock is conveniently located in near many exciting attractions and events. Enjoy the peace and comfort of a country inn – start your day with a delicious breakfast, experience culture and history, then refresh on our private grounds. Here are just a few of the many opportunities that await:

Billings Farm Spring Festival

Billings Farm Spring Festival

Billings Farm & Museum’s Spring Farm Festival (April 30 – May 1) features activities and exhibits (yes, you can help with the plowing!). Watch sheep shearing, take a wagon ride, experience spring on a farm.

Catch the final performances of “Evita” at Northern Stage in White River Junction through May 8.

Enjoy acclaimed musicians in Woodstock as Pentangle Arts Council presents Bruce Cockburn and Band on May 12 and Jon Anderson on May 21 or attend first-run movies in the Town Hall theatre on Friday, Sunday and Monday.

And to close the month during Memorial Day Weekend, Billings Farm & Museum presents a kickoff to Dairy Month with “Cows and Camembert Weekend” on May 28 & 29. Sample Vermont’s delicious cheeses, watch ice cream and butter making (the “old-fashioned” way), and learn about the farm from the cow’s perspective!

Vermont Open Studio Weekend

Vermont Potter - Open Studio

Finally – an amazing opportunity – Memorial Day weekend is also “Open Studio Weekend” in the state. Artists open their doors and invite you to see their work in the studios where their talents create works of art.  Sponsored by the Vermont Crafts Council, this year’s event highlights the work of 263 artisans throughout the state. Enjoy the work of potters, painters, weavers, glass blowers, and many more.  Visit over 20 participating artists in Windsor County alone!
